A Pleasant Entrance

I'd love going to school if it looked this fun. This JHS's in Brooklyn's Clinton Hill/Bedstuy neighborhood.

The Stoop !

Last Saturday i finally got to be a guest at The Stoop. Ive been more than eager for weeks.

Sallome's been telling me the greatest things about the crew and i couldnt wait to meet them myself.
It was really cool to be interviewed my highschool students about design, process, and the likes.
We also got to D E S I G N on the spot.

As a surprise assignment i challenged the team to come up with the concept and design of the flyer for their upcoming event. We split into teams and attacked the impromptu brief.
Not bad for 1st time creative directors, eh?

Jelsen, my hero.

Yesterday I tagged along with Jelsen to The Stoop, where he was fortunate enough to talk to young adults about his work and the process of making it happen.
I loved seeing him in action, but I'll let him tell you more about it in a later post.

Good Morning // 11

Today, i decided not to skip class - and so did Sallome. She and i went to Brooklyn's own George Westinghouse High School to pay some kids a visit.

Today's Subject: D R E A M S. we all got 'em, ya know.
The kids, predictably, were amazing. At first they were reluctant to acknowledge interest in the two of us.....until the jokes started going around. ha.

looking forward to the next.
