YES! So, lucky me - when i stayed at that Salt Lake City hotel for my layover there was a tv show on PBS that had a special on wooden roller-coasters. And guess where there was one? yep - San Diego.
So, the first (and only thing i planned to do besides go to the art opening) was to track this one down and tame it: ....good times.

Happy Veronica-day!
Our buddy Veronica was celebrating her day of birth this past weekend and although Jels couldn't make it, I made sure to represent the "Courtesy of" household.
The party was crazy and the dance-offs started eeeearly! I danced, I boozed and I tasted the best red velvet cake of my life.
Towards the end of the night I met this beautiful couple, Mark and Alicia (killer shoes, girl!) who've been together for 15 yrs and have 3 kids.( Future blast, Jels?) They told me with excitement that their oldest daughter (9yrs) had made her very first trip alone to the grocery store that day. Adorable. (Actually, she thought she had gone to the store alone before, but in the past - Mark had followed her all the way there and back without her knowing. Even more adorable!)
Killer night. I got home more drunk than when I had left the party and had a painful recovery the next day. Thanks Veronica, you know how to throw it down!-bahareh
An evening with Jelsen and Stoli vodka
Wednesday night was just another day in the life of Jelsen Jargon. Music was blasting, people were boozing and Jelsen was working. This time around he was working in front of a crowd of over 1000 people who all came out to watch these four awesome designers...design. He teamed up with our buddy Guillo and together they made us "oooh", "aaah" and giggle.-bahareh
Montel smoked himself to tears
Thanks to Jelsens old friend Nydia, who works for MPP, we got tickets to this benefit party last week. Jelsen had previous engagements so I brought Alexis with me instead. We thought it was a sit down dinner, so we came hungry. Very hungry. And when we discovered they were only passing appetizers, we stationed ourselves by the kitchen entrance with free drinks in hand and waited for the trays to come out.
We also got to see Kurt Loder ("MTV news, ten to the hour every hour"-dude!) speak about why he thinks medical marijuana should be legalized (heart warming stories sent to him by Nydia to share with us) . Montel Williams also did a speech and cried not only once, not twice...not three times...but FOUR! WTF?! First time , my eyes were a little moist too...but the way he kept doing it was so...fake! I couldn't believe what I was seeing, so out of line and dramatic! He needs to be back on TV asap.
At least he brought a pretty date.
Lex and I had to leave early because we had a more important party to get to. You can read all about it in the next post!-bahareh

Good Ol' Carole's

During my time in San Diego im bunking at Carole's Bed'n'Breakfast. She's a wonderful lady.
The place is nice and she has TWO of em - both across the street from each other in this quaint Cali-hood.
I'll def take more photos during my stay.
Oh, and she loved the flowers of course. *wink.
Before getting to Carole's i stopped by the liquor store and she didnt take my ID!! I know my face is faded away (its my old Miami license) but damnit i wanted mid-day boozin'.
Minor set-back. Now that im all settled in im headed to downtown.....
hint: i found a wooden roller-coaster on the beach.
i think i miss Bahareh.

Salt Lake City, UTAH
Since i missed my initial flight from JFK - San Diego last night i luckily got a later flight ($50) two hrs later. It wasnt a bad flight at all. I got to watch JUMPER (so so so so shitty) whilst nibbling on cheese'n'crackers.
Since the 2nd flight they gave me was delayed by 2hrs - i got a hotel voucher! How do i keep lucking out like this?On the flight i sat next to two Moldovan exchange students. This is my very first time meeting Moldovans. They were nice enough to answer all my annoying inquiries.
Back at the hotel they came over for pizza - thanks to me they also finally discovered what pepperoni is actually made of.Before heading to the airport at 8am we took a quick drive through Salt Lake City's core - the Mormon Church.
At the airport, some fun signage:
......and THIS one made me giggle:
San Diego! Here i come....
