At 6:30am saturday morning our wonderful (and perma-cheerful) wedding florist Jessy picked us up in her brand spankin' new car (aka The Toaster) and headed to Chelsea Flower Market. I love being in the city so early in the morning - it's at its cleanest....aaaah.
We hopped from one shop to the next finalizing our vision for the wedding. Flowers are so damn interesting. "what's this?...what's that called?" Bahareh and i periodically asked. Jessy always knew, and i swear they all sounded like dinosaur names.
...we're having puffer fish as our centerpieces. sike!
Thank you Jessy for the great time! Cant wait to see the goodies.

Psychology, psychology. This 'white male = omnipotence' concept has been the center of (western) culture since...uhm....1492?
This role is still very popular among all forms of public communication, which (still) shows the lack of cultural, ethnic, and gender diversity in just about every industry. The 'majority' advertises for and with themselves in mind - duh.
Ever since i can remember ive looked through school textbooks, watched popular tv shows and read print ads asking, "where's the guy that represents me?". Im either in BOX:A or BOX:B. This, both subtly and overtly, has an undeniably negative effect on a young person's character development and perception of self worth. If you only see someone that looks like you in a handful of roles - you imply these are the sum of all that you can become.

Hospital Hoppin'

What's better than working your ass off and barely sleeping and then treating yourself to an impromptu concert with a couple of buddies? - NADA!
The talent of the night: J*Davey. On sunday Kareem, Chakaras and i hit up S.O.B.'s for the much needed sweat-off.
Folks...if you didnt know about 'em please find out. woah! always a pleasure.
...and it got a little intimate. A couple of us jumped on stage and danced with her for her exit song.

Get well soon, Billy!
Our friend Alexis told me yesterday that she doesn't want to be our friend anymore because it seems like all our friends are ending up in hospitals these days. I really hope this is the last of the vicious cycle though.
This week our buddy, Billy had been experiencing some tummy pains and being the man he is, he didn't have it checked before it was a little too late. He ended up in the operation room where they performed emergency appendicitis and also remove part of his colon! Billy is now recovering in a very fancy hospital uptown where he has a view of the river, free internet and a magic remote. The magic remote controls the lights, the TV, the bed and...it has a button that goes straight to the nurse, so anytime he needs something he can ask for it!
He also has a magic button that gives him magic pain medicine whenever he needs it and he let me push it for him!! Hi girl, Becca, and I had the best time watching him get hiiiiigh.
Visiting hours are from 4-8pm, so I guess you just figured out what YOU're doing this weekend, huh?

Bon Voyage, Joe!
Our buddy, Joe, left the country this week and will be spending the next few months in China where he is set to supervise the opening of a new gallery! Very fun for him, not as fun for Allison - his cutie girlfriend, or Courtesy Of - cuz he'll be missing our wedding!
But truth be told, we are pretty envious he gets to go on this crazy adventure!
We wish you good luck, buddy. Hurry back, you guys are like the best double date we've ever had. Ha ha
Also, Courtesy Of thinks he should start a blog to keep us all updated on his Chinese life! All in favor, leave a comment and help put the peer pressure on our Joe!

I got to meet Richie Rich, Heatherette designer, the other night and he was the sweetest person e v e r! Check out his designs for that fun, whimsical, trashy-flashy New York style. I love it because it always entertains me and makes me giggle. And we all know how I like to giggle!

My favorite Norwegian movie, REPRISE, is playing in New York.I rrrreally LOVE this movie and now I am so excited that I finally get to take Jelsen to watch it! It's already been playing a couple of weeks - and I don't really know how much longer it's gonna be on - so hurry up before they take it off the playlist !
Instead of walking around in the disgusting heat this weekend, head to the cooled down theaters and show Norway some love.
