My 1st internet crush

Since Jelsen and I were lucky enough to be featured on Brooklyn Bride's blog, we've been getting a lot of love on various other blogs from around the world. One of the sweet comments led me through another blog onto this fabulous blog by a lady in Scotland (dreamy!) who is planning her own nuptials and introduced me to the coolest DIY project ever. I wish I was brave enough to take on this task! As soon as we are settled in the new apartment, I am following her guidelines and making these gorgeous candles. They'll make a great xmas/hannukah/kwanza gift!

First of all, let me tell you how the first thing that drew me her way was the name of her blog, Peonies and Polaroids. Two of my favorite things in the world! (I think we are destined!)
Besides making these gorgeous jars, she diy'ed these pretty shoes that I wanted a while back-but turned out to be a bit out of my pre-wedding budget! I definitely have a crush on her craftiness and put her blog on my "daily blog list" for more ideas and inspiration.

Today, as I was scrolling through her blog and nodding my head to her comments on the "deposit effect" and perplexed that she made me actually love roses (I thought I hated roses!), I see that she did an entire post about OUR wedding. And she writes just the sweetest things about us!

I think this is the start of a beautiful internet-friendship.

Best Batman Movie EVER

So, last night was a classic '...oh, Jelsen...' moment with a splash of Bahareh mixed in. I'll just make it quick:

01) frantically bought tickets online for a 12:01am thursday (meaning wednesday night) BATMAN showing.
02) got to the theater 40mins early
03) retrieved our tickets from the kiosk
04) gave the tickets to the 'ticket ripping guy'
05) watched the 'ticket ripping guy' laugh at us while saying, "Batman isnt tonite - you're 24hrs early"
06) uhm
07) enjoyed Hellboy II
wow. so tonite, we do it all over again (correctly, though). and why the fuck isnt the Fandango clearer about midnight showings?! right?

ehem,

More via The Groom

Without a doubt the best 19hrs(?) of my life all happened on June 26th. Every pic Steph took puts me right back in that day [ thanks ].

PLUS we've made some new friends! Thank you East Side Bride for the 'Groom Style' post. And also to BKLYN Bride for doubling-up on the B&J love.
Here's my lil brother, Andrew, and our pops. My mother calls him 'Josue'.

Featured Wedding

While planning our wedding, I've looked for inspiration everywhere, and one of my favorite places to look the past 6 months has been Brooklyn Bride's blog. Today, we were pretty excited to see that she decided to write about our wedding as a source of inspiration for others.

Take a peek at her blogpost and if you know of anyone who is looking for inspiration for their upcoming nuptials - you should send them straight to it and expect a thank you or two.

July 11th 2008 Rocks Because:

Italian Vogue: 'A Black Issue' comes out in US stores today. Thankfully, Fashionista ripped out and scanned each and every page of it for our cyber-viewing pleasure: > HERE <

so delicious. thanks [again] to Jeannie for the links.

Candice's Stockholm For Now

Candice is awesome. Why? Because she does whatever the hell she wants. Where is she now? Stockholm - because she wanted to move there.

Just Like That.

A fellow graphic designer, we met while working at BBDuh-Oh a couple years back. I would often poke her brain for stories of 'what and how to do it' (for example - she moved to amsterdam from san fran for a gig) and periodic career goal channeling.

So far, she's done just about everything i want to do - in the correct order! epic.

Ah well, now she's in Sweden living it up; keep it up, homie! As soon as you slow down i'll catch up.

Check out her primo blog: NewYorkForNow
Also, her craft (one of 'em): SOFT
