Made it to the Big screen

We all know how Jelsen has his sticker sticking down. He knows where to stick - so they won't be taken down and he knows how to stick - so he won't get caught. Hey, he even has his own crew of sticker stickers all over the world.

A couple of weeks ago our buddy, Mawuse, informed him that she had been to a pre-screening of the new Biggie Smalls movie, "Notorious" and caught a glance of a Jelsen Jargon sticker in it.

In a moment of extreme boredom today, I decided to watch the film online and there, 11minutes in, is an actor doing pull ups against a lamp post and a very familiar sticker staring at me. Can't wait to see this movie on the big screen (no pun intended)! Good job sticking it, husband.

NYC > Washington DC

9AM : jumped on the Chinatown Bus to DC for Obama's inauguration on tuesday.

....and i bumped into a friend i havent seen since last summer. thanks to Tiffany's entertaining demeanor [ and children stories ] my ipod got next to zero play.

im grateful. 

significantly over 5hrs later [ its usually just 4hrs ] we got to DC.

I choose peace

One of the last days Jelsen was in my hometown of Oslo, we joined in on a peace march in the city center. It was a very emotional experience and one of those moments that makes me so proud to be Norwegian. I'm uncertain how much of the war in Gaza is portrayed through media in the U.S these days, but Norway is very passionately involved and the stories we are hearing here scare me to the core. Today a UN quarter, a shelter and a hospital were bombed and it seems nothing is sacred anymore. This past week there has been street riots in Oslo as a reaction to the unfair battle that is going on and it is dividing friends and neighbors in heart breaking ways.

 I think it's important to point out that none of us need to take a side in this battle. We don't need to take a stand between the religions involved or the statements being made. The people that showed up to this march all took an important stand, raised their torches so they could be seen clearly and showed where they stood in the battle between war and peace. They all chose peace. And that's all the rest of us need to do too.
A lot of people are disagreeing about what is actually going on, and I think it's important for everyone to put pressure on Israel so they will let journalists come in to the war zone and report to the world about what they see. All is NOT fair in war and we need make sure rules are not broken in a way that affects the civilians.

Ladies night

For the first time since my bachelorette party, my ladies from back when I was the tequila queen of high school gathered (the wedding doesn't count cuz Amela didn't make it there!). It was Anne Christine's bday and the lovely lady dished up a wonderful meal for us to devour. It's always such a treat to play with these girls that have stayed together through thick and thin for years, some of us since kindergarden! Awww.

I came upon this strange little creature earlier today. Possibly the strangest looking fish I've ever seen. The mouth sorta looks like a...vajay jay, no? Like a very talented one?

Jargon Desktop : Welcome Home

aaaah, back in my dungeon. i cant believe i just 'vacationed' for almost 4 full weeks. What am i - a goddamn aristocrat?!

Well, that was fun while it lasted and now im back to my native Blue Collarism [ the work ethic / not the salary ].

oh, and im still looking forward to posting how our New Years went down. [ cough, ABBA, ehem ]

What I learned on TV today

Tonight's full moon is going to be the closest to the earth of all of 2009. It's actually 50 000 km closer to our planet than usual (that is about 30 000 miles for those who don't know the metric system) and because of that, the moon is supposedly gonna look 30% brighter and about 15% bigger. 

So if the clouds aren't in your way, I hope you look up and enjoy the view that is shining from above.

Skiiiiii

Although Jelsen proved to be a natural on skis and hardly gave us anything to laugh about in the slopes...I did manage to get a little footage of his early attempts and downfalls. Enjoy, dear friends, it's not often you'll get to see Mr. Jargon on his ass.

All Aboard > OSLO

Take II:

So, we boarded the vessel in Copenhagen headed back to Oslo. Now, the events of the 1st leg of the trip were still...uhm....haunting us, so we were determined do it better this time around.

Here we go:
We attacked the tax-free store then headed back to our lil room for The Cycle.
This time was different, though - Lisa & Ekene went around to the bars on the boat flirting to get a sack of ice......they succeeded!

...more drinking games. wait - i mean, 'more of the same drinking game'.
ooooops - we realized that we missed the last call for dinner (11pm) so we rushed out and BEGGED the waiter to get us ANYTHING left in the kitchen....
...that 'anything' came in the form of french fries. lots and lots of french fries.
We were so drunk we actually ate it all. ha!....no need to say that someONE threw up the rest of the night - but, i just said it. so....there.

...back to cabin drinking...
...then, again:
ha - identical to the night prior. Same people, same music, same wonderful sloppiness.
aaaaah - woke up back in Oslo the next morning. This trip was so much fun. Next time (if we dare to brave this method again) we promised to squeeze in more days BETWEEN the boat rides.

We pinky swore.
