Last Week's Interestings // 12

- jelsen

Twas a Happy Saturday, indeed

"Happy Sabbath!"

Steph came over [ bagel in-hand ] for a chill-out summer regimen. With our passive powers combined this is an easy task. We later picked up some Pabst [ yes, even in the daytime ] and headed up the block to J-Tram's apt/rooftop.
uhm, ridiculous? yes...and here's more

My big sister Elise has been in Thailand for just about 3 weeks now teaching english (the american variety) to school kids.

She's set to be there for 6 weeks and has been loving her host family. Here are some pics she sent:

CHALLENGE // 1-Month Bud Light Wristband

This morning whilst waking up i realized i didnt remove my sexy BudLight wristband from last night's Deerhoof concert. Bahareh said that i couldnt leave it on for 1 month.

i, Jelsen, accepted the challenge.

This could either be interesting, or just the opposite - for 1 entire month. We didnt even agree on a prize.

Brooklyn + Deerhoof

Whoohoo! Celebrate Brooklyn concert series at Prospect Park is fantastic. Last night was Deerhoof - primo!...and though ive been a fan of Deerhoof as a collective force i also have an established man/crush [ on the basis of musical skill, silly ] on drummer Greg Saunier.

why? enjoy:

Good Morning // 17

On thursday morn, Yego [ of 21 Maroon Colony ] and i met up and biked over to The Brooklyn Library for some good ole fashion content soakage.

It's been ages since i've used the best thing our government has to offer.

bien sur,

The Real Knight

...THIS time, we made it on time for The Dark Knight opening [ 12:02am ]. Actually, 'too' on time. All the great, good, decent seats were taken and we were just left with 3rd to front row corner seats - HELL NO.

So, i got a theater employee [ aka messiah ] to sneak us into another theater - an empty one! This benevolent man got an extra $10.

we got perfect middle/middle seats.
woohoo,

My 1st internet crush

Since Jelsen and I were lucky enough to be featured on Brooklyn Bride's blog, we've been getting a lot of love on various other blogs from around the world. One of the sweet comments led me through another blog onto this fabulous blog by a lady in Scotland (dreamy!) who is planning her own nuptials and introduced me to the coolest DIY project ever. I wish I was brave enough to take on this task! As soon as we are settled in the new apartment, I am following her guidelines and making these gorgeous candles. They'll make a great xmas/hannukah/kwanza gift!

First of all, let me tell you how the first thing that drew me her way was the name of her blog, Peonies and Polaroids. Two of my favorite things in the world! (I think we are destined!)
Besides making these gorgeous jars, she diy'ed these pretty shoes that I wanted a while back-but turned out to be a bit out of my pre-wedding budget! I definitely have a crush on her craftiness and put her blog on my "daily blog list" for more ideas and inspiration.

Today, as I was scrolling through her blog and nodding my head to her comments on the "deposit effect" and perplexed that she made me actually love roses (I thought I hated roses!), I see that she did an entire post about OUR wedding. And she writes just the sweetest things about us!

I think this is the start of a beautiful internet-friendship.
